Rayner is a British company and the only manufacturer of intraocular lenses (IOLs), used in cataract surgery, in the UK. We are driven by science to improve performance and safety with a focus on providing the best visual outcomes for clinicians and patients.
When Sir Harold Ridley invented the world’s first intraocular lens (IOL) in 1949, he chose Rayner to manufacture this ground-breaking invention. Today, Rayner’s IOLs are available in over 80 countries and are used by some of the leading eye surgeons around the world.
We have been focused on providing the best visual outcomes for our patients since 1910 when our first opticians opened in Brighton. Our dedicated Research & Development team are committed to their mission of developing innovative new products, clinically superior materials and state-of-the-art automated manufacturing equipment.
Rayner’s global headquarters and state-of-the-art manufacturing facility are now based in Worthing on the South Coast of England.
